Top Global Bluesky Users, July 2024: USA Takes the Lead

Bluesky is a social media platform founded by Twitter's co-founder, Jack Dorsey, in 2019. Initially accessible only by invitation, it opened to the public in February 2024.

According to SimilarWeb data, the Bluesky website received 330,600 visits in July 2024, a 15.62% increase from the previous month.

During that period, the United States had the highest proportion of Bluesky users, accounting for 34.69% of the global total.

This was followed by Canada with 9.4%, Switzerland with 6.53%, Japan with 3.94%, the United Kingdom with 2.84%, and other countries combined at 42.6%.

Recently, Bluesky gained significant attention in Brazil due to a court order blocking the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) in the country.

Consequently, Brazilian X users migrated to Bluesky, resulting in a substantial surge in new users.

According to the official Bluesky website, at the end of August 2024, they recorded their highest ever activity with 500,000 new users joining in just two days.

“Great work Brazil, you made the right choice,” said Bluesky CEO Jay Graber in response to this achievement, as reported by *Antara* on Sunday, September 1st, 2024.

By September 4th, 2024, the app had surpassed 2.6 million users, with 85% originating from Brazil.
