Indonesia's Military Strength Rises One Rank to 15th Globally in 2022

One of the world's military ranking websites, *Global Firepower*, ranked Indonesia's military strength 15th strongest globally out of 140 surveyed countries in 2022, climbing one position compared to the previous year.

Global Firepower assigned Indonesia a military power index (PwrIndx) score of 0.2251. This indicates that Indonesia's military strength is increasingly approaching that of developed nations.

Indonesia's ranking is below Iran's military (14th) and above Germany's (16th). Meanwhile, the United States retains its position as the world's strongest military power, with a PwrIndx of 0.0453.

Global Firepower uses over 50 individual country indicators in its assessment, resulting in a unique formula. A smaller country is unlikely to compete with a larger one due to the latter's advantages in one or more indicators.

Indicators used to compile this index include the number of weapons possessed, weapon diversity, natural resources, industrial capacity, human resources, and stable finances. A lower PwrIndx value indicates a stronger military.
