Indonesia's Saturday (August 17th) Food Prices: Onions Up, Rice Down

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (17/8/2024) at 08.02 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 16 commodities increased and 5 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, pure beef, shallots, bulk cooking oil, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, iodized fine salt, farmer-level corn, dry soybean (import), and SPHP rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots experienced the highest price increase of Rp1,530 (5.93%) to Rp27,350 per kg. Farmer-level corn saw the largest price decrease of Rp160 (2.77%) to Rp5,620 per kg.
