Today's Food Prices in South Sumatra: Onion and Egg Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (8/6/2024) at 08.37 WIB, out of 19 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include premium rice, red chilies, broiler chicken, mackerel, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), pure beef, skipjack tuna, fine iodized salt, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp6,890 (16.28%) to Rp49,200 per kg. Meanwhile, bulk wheat flour experienced the lowest price decrease, down by Rp720 (7.82%) to Rp8,490 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 19 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas as of June 8, 2024, at 08.37 WIB.

3. Shallots: Rp49,200 per kg (up 16.28%)
4. Red Chili Peppers: Rp44,610 per kg (up 3.84%)
5. Shallot Bulbs: Rp41,290 per kg (up 4.35%)
6. Broiler Chicken: Rp34,110 per kg (up 0.41%)
7. Mackerel: Rp33,020 per kg (up 5.8%)
8. Milkfish: Rp29,320 per kg (up 9.77%)
9. Broiler Eggs: Rp27,620 per kg (up 0.55%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp26,660 per kg (down 2.56%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp18,000 per kg (up 0.5%)
12. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,240 per liter (up 0.64%)
