Since 2011, Terrorist Attacks Against the U.S. Have Steadily Increased

Since 2011, the number of terrorist attacks targeting the United States (US) has been increasing. In 2015, there were 38 attacks targeting the US. This figure increased from the previous year, which recorded 26 attacks. In 2011, only 10 attacks against the US were recorded.

On Friday, January 27, 2017, President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing a 90-day travel ban to the United States for citizens of Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen, and suspending the refugee program for 120 days. Syrian citizens are indefinitely banned from entry. "I am establishing new vetting measures to keep the US safe from radical Islamic terrorists entering our country. We only want to admit into our country those who will support our country and love its people," Trump stated.
