November 2016 Inflation Rate: 0.47 Percent

In November 2016, inflation reached 0.47 percent, higher than the previous month. Of the 82 cities monitored, 78 experienced inflation and the remainder experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manado, reaching 2.86 percent, while the lowest was in Singkawang at 0.05 percent. The largest deflation occurred in Bau-Bau, at 1.54 percent, and the lowest in Kendari at 0.22 percent.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in the index of expenditure groups such as the food commodity group, which increased by 1.66 percent; followed by processed food, beverages, tobacco and cigarettes at 0.25 percent; and the health group at 0.3 percent.

The calendar year inflation rate (Jan-Nov) 2016 reached 2.59 percent, while the year-on-year (YoY) inflation rate (November 2016 compared to November 2015) was 3.58 percent. Core inflation in November 2016 was recorded at 0.15 percent, and calendar year inflation (Jan-Nov) reached 2.84 percent.
