Current Food Prices in East Java: Salt and Sugar Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (9/6/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dry soybean (import), fine iodized salt, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), red chilies, and granulated sugar.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken, garlic cloves, milkfish, medium rice, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Fine iodized salt experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,130 (11.89%) to Rp10,630 per kg. Broiler chicken experienced the lowest price decrease, dropping Rp1,970 (5.81%) to Rp31,910 per kg.

5. Mackerel: Rp32,000 per kg (down 4.33%)
6. Milkfish: Rp31,940 per kg (down 2.38%)
7. Broiler Chicken: Rp31,910 per kg (down 5.81%)
8. Red Chili Peppers: Rp29,820 per kg (down 1.71%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp29,620 per kg (down 1.95%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp27,810 per kg (up 3.46%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,290 per liter (up 3.78%)
12. Granulated Sugar: Rp16,900 per kg (up 0.18%)
