Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra: Egg Prices Rise, Salt Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (26/8/2024) at 08.40 WIB, out of 18 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are wheat flour (bulk), pure beef, shallots, simple packaged cooking oil, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), garlic bulbs, granulated sugar, bulk cooking oil, and mackerel have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Chicken eggs saw the highest price increase of Rp1,020 (3.6%) to Rp29,360 per kg. Meanwhile, iodized fine salt experienced the largest price decrease of Rp2,100 (13.3%) to Rp13,690 per kg.

2. Mackerel: Rp45,000 per kg (down 6.58%)
3. Curly Red Chili: Rp40,000 per kg (down 2.98%)
4. Garlic Bulbs: Rp37,420 per kg (down 3.48%)
5. Skipjack Tuna: Rp37,420 per kg (down 1.68%)
6. Chicken Meat: Rp34,320 per kg (down 1.75%)
7. Chicken Eggs: Rp29,360 per kg (up 3.6%)
8. Shallots: Rp20,000 per kg (up 2.56%)
9. Granulated Sugar: Rp18,000 per kg (down 0.06%)
10. Premium Rice: Rp18,000 per kg (up 2.74%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,750 per liter (up 1.31%)
