Latest South Sumatra Food Prices: Salt Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (23/9/2024) at 08.42 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged simple cooking oil, bulk cooking oil, skipjack tuna, dry soybean (import), and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, garlic bulbs, chicken eggs, granulated sugar, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt saw the highest price increase of Rp1,210 (10.58%) to Rp12,650 per kg. Red chilies saw the steepest price decrease of Rp5,900 (14.18%) to Rp35,710 per kg.

6. Milkfish: Rp27,930 per kg (up 2.61%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,390 per kg (up 0.59%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp26,000 per kg (down 0.04%)
9. Curly Red Chilies: Rp25,310 per kg (down 13.17%)
10. Shallots: Rp24,980 per kg (down 0.68%)
11. Packaged Simple Cooking Oil: Rp17,330 per liter (up 0.99%)
12. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,000 per kg (down 1.79%)
