Latest Food Prices in East Java: Salt Price Up, Chili Price Down

Prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency's (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (8/8/2025) at 10:40 AM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 10 experienced price increases and 13 saw decreases.

Commodities with increased prices include packaged cooking oil, Minyakita, broiler eggs, dry soybeans (imported), and broiler chicken meat.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as consumption sugar, skipjack tuna, garlic, shallots, and pure beef decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Imported dry soybeans saw the highest jump of Rp273 (2.8%) to Rp10,008 per kg. Red cayenne pepper prices, however, fell most sharply by Rp1,917 (6.05%) to Rp29,773 per kg.

Here is the complete list of prices for 23 food commodities in East Java according to Bapanas on August 8, 2025, at 10:40 AM WIB.

4. Mackerel: Rp34,205 per kg (down 1.52%)
5. Curly Red Chili: Rp33,278 per kg (down 2.08%)
6. Milkfish: Rp32,278 per kg (down 1.52%)
7. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp32,011 per kg (up 0.08%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp31,825 per kg (down 0.17%)
9. Garlic (Bulb): Rp30,149 per kg (down 1.37%)
10. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp29,773 per kg (down 6.05%)
11. Broiler Eggs: Rp27,265 per kg (up 0.36%)
12. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp19,826 per liter (up 0.6%)
13. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp17,565 per liter (down 2.03%)
14. Minyakita: Rp16,674 per liter (up 0.16%)
15. Consumption Sugar: Rp16,620 per kg (down 0.33%)
16. Premium Rice: Rp15,194 per kg (up 0.85%)
17. Medium Rice: Rp13,196 per kg (down 0.8%)
