Premium Quality Sugar Prices in Traditional Markets, May 2024-2025

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of premium granulated sugar in traditional markets in South Sulawesi Province is recorded at Rp17,150. This price remains unchanged compared to the previous day, and similarly, there has been no change in price over the past week.

Regarding the price over the past month, the daily price of premium granulated sugar in traditional markets has not changed from the previous record of Rp17,150.

Meanwhile, the daily price of premium granulated sugar in traditional markets in South Sulawesi over the past three months has increased by 0.59% from the previous price of Rp17,050.

The highest recorded increase in the daily price of premium granulated sugar in traditional markets in this province was in March 2020, with an increase of 6.08%, while the lowest decrease was recorded in November 2016, with a decrease of -3.78%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in South Sulawesi show seven commodities decreased and 20 increased. The basic commodities with decreased prices are: Low-Quality Rice I, Daily Red Chili in Traditional Markets by Province, Daily Chili in Traditional Markets by Province, Super Quality Rice II, Super Quality Rice I, Daily Granulated Sugar in Traditional Markets by Province, and Daily Local Granulated Sugar in Traditional Markets by Province.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price changes over the past month in South Sulawesi Province:

4. Low-Quality Rice I per Kg: Rp12,200 (down 0.41%)

6. Red Chili per Kg, daily in Traditional Markets by Province: Rp65,050 (down 3.49%)
7. Chili per Kg, daily in Traditional Markets by Province: Rp58,150 (down 2.1%)
