A Kompas Research and Development survey found that 85.9% of respondents disagreed with black campaigning.

Then, campaigns based on hatred or hostility came to mind for 11.7% of respondents when they heard the phrase black campaign.

Some respondents also mentioned campaigns that spread slander (11.1%), money politics (9%), and others (2.4%).

This survey involved 506 respondents from 34 provinces in Indonesia. The sample was randomly selected from the Kompas Research and Development panel respondents, according to the population proportion in each province.

Data collection was conducted from November 20-23, 2023, using telephone interviews. This survey has a margin of error of approximately 4.37% under simple random sampling conditions, and a 95% confidence level.
