Red Onion Prices in Modern Markets for the March 2025-2026 Period

Based on the latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel, the daily red onion price in modern markets of West Sumatra province is recorded at Rp47.7 thousand per kg. This price remains unchanged compared to the previous day, as has been the case over the past week.

Compared to the price 30 days ago, the daily red onion price in modern markets has increased from the previously recorded Rp45.7 thousand per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily red onion price in modern markets in West Sumatra over the past three months has increased by 2.69% from the previous trading price of Rp46.45 thousand per kg.

The record increase in daily red onion prices in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in May 2017 with a 26.75% increase, and the lowest decrease was recorded in July 2018 with a -21.73% decrease.

According to the PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine staple foods (sembako) today in West Sumatra show three commodities have decreased and 18 others have increased. The staple foods with falling prices are Super II Quality Rice, Premium Quality Granulated Sugar, and Super I Quality Rice.
