First Quarter 2018, Logistics Sector Economy Rp 31 Trillion

The emergence of e-commerce in Indonesia has transformed how people shop, shifting from traditional methods to online shopping. This change has fueled the growth of the logistics sector economy, specifically warehousing and support services for transportation, postal services, and couriers.

According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the logistics sector at current prices reached Rp 119.72 trillion in 2017, higher than the Rp 104.69 trillion in 2016. In the first quarter of 2018, the logistics sector's economy reached Rp 30.7 trillion, lower than the previous month but higher than the first quarter of 2017.

Since the third quarter of 2017, the GDP of the logistics sector has grown by more than 6%. Furthermore, based on constant 2010 prices, the GDP of the logistics sector in the first quarter of 2018 grew by 10.86% compared to the first quarter of 2017 (YoY).
