The 2022 Indonesian National Police Budget Allocation Increased by 14.6%

The Indonesian government has allocated Rp 111.02 trillion (approximately US$7.6 billion based on current exchange rates, but the exact amount depends on the date of conversion) for the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in the 2022 State Budget Draft (RAPBN). This figure represents a 14.6% increase compared to the 2021 APBN outlook of Rp 96.88 trillion, and is the highest allocation in previous years.

The largest portion of the Polri budget for next year, Rp 49.57 trillion (44.65% of the total), is allocated to management support programs. This represents a 10.92% increase from the previous year's Rp 44.69 trillion.

Rp 36.18 trillion (23.97% of the total) is allocated for the modernization of special equipment and infrastructure. This is a 23.97% increase from the previous year's Rp 29.19 trillion.

Rp 16.78 trillion (15.11% of the total) is allocated for maintaining public security and order, a 3.76% increase from the previous year's Rp 16.17 trillion.

Rp 5.29 trillion (4.77% of the total) is allocated for the investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses, a 17.02% increase from this year's Rp 4.52 trillion.

Rp 3.19 trillion (2.87% of the total) is allocated for the professional development of Polri human resources (SDM), a 38.77% increase from the 2021 APBN outlook of Rp 2.3 trillion.

The government has set the total expenditure budget in the 2022 RAPBN at Rp 2,708.68 trillion, while state revenue is projected at Rp 1,840.66 trillion. This results in a projected budget deficit of Rp 868.19 trillion, or 4.85% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for next year.
