41.8 Million NIKs Already Registered as Recipients of 3 Kg LPG Subsidy

PT Pertamina (Persero) recorded 41.8 million Indonesian Citizen Identity Numbers (NIKs) registered in the Precise LPG Subsidy program as of April 30, 2024. This aligns with the regulation mandating the use of KTP (Indonesian ID card) for purchasing 3-kilogram (kg) LPG cylinders, effective June 1, 2024.

Of this total, 86%, or 35.9 million NIKs, belong to household registrants. Micro-businesses account for 5.8 million NIKs (13.9% of total registrants). There are also 70,300 NIKs from retailers (0.17%), 29,600 NIKs from targeted fishermen (0.07%), and 12,800 NIKs from targeted farmers (0.03%).

According to regulations issued by the Director General of Oil and Gas, retailers still receive a 20% allocation of 3 kg LPG.

"All agents and distribution points are recording purchases by consumers and inputting the data into the Merchant Application (MAP) system," said Riva Siahaan, President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, during a hearing with Commission VII of the DPR (House of Representatives) on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

He revealed that 253,365 active distribution points disbursed 3 kg LPG in April 2024, with 88% recording each LPG transaction.

The targeted LPG distribution based on NIKs refers to data from the Acceleration of Targeting for Extreme Poverty Reduction (P3KE) program, with a total of 189 million NIKs eligible for subsidized gas.
