Indonesia's Food Prices (Week of September 22nd): Onion Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (22/9/2024) at 2:25 PM WIB, out of 21 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are bulk cooking oil, simple packaged cooking oil, shallots, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, farmer-level corn, pure beef, granulated sugar, and broiler chicken have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase of Rp80 (0.3%) to Rp27,070 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chilies saw the sharpest decrease of Rp490 (1.44%) to Rp33,620 per kg.
