Central Java Food Price Update Today: Salt Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall (Sunday, February 18, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (18/2/2024) at 12.07 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, red onions, tongkol fish, medium-grain rice, and milkfish.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, pure beef, red chilies, chicken eggs, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of tongkol fish saw the highest increase, jumping Rp6,840 (25.62%) to Rp33,540 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chilies saw the lowest decrease, dropping Rp900 (1.32%) to Rp67,410 per kg.
