Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra: Onion and Chili Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Sunday (18/8/2024) at 12:48 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, medium-grain rice, milkfish, curly red chilies, and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as SPHP rice, bulk wheat flour, skipjack tuna, premium rice, and broiler chicken decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, up Rp9,750 (21.54%) to Rp55,020 per kg. Shallots saw the largest price decrease, down Rp650 (3.05%) to Rp20,650 per kg.
