Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Chili Prices Up, Rice Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (15/8/2024) at 10:25 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include curly red chilies, broiler chicken meat, simple packaged cooking oil, whole garlic cloves, and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, granulated sugar, Indian mackerel, skipjack tuna, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp1,080 (2.45%) to Rp45,090 per kg. Skipjack tuna experienced the sharpest price drop of Rp4,150 (15.26%) to Rp23,040 per kg.
