Indonesia's Food Prices on Wednesday (August 28th): Onions Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (28/8/2024) at 12:26 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 15 commodities increased in price and 3 decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, bulk cooking oil, chicken eggs, mackerel, and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, premium rice, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp640 (1.73%) to Rp37,550 per kg. Red chili prices saw the sharpest decrease, dropping Rp1,080 (2.08%) to Rp50,720 per kg.
