Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Rice and Chili Prices Decrease

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (August 15, 2025) at 2:59 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 15 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include consumption sugar, garlic, packaged cooking oil, large red chili, and Minyakita (subsidized cooking oil).

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, skipjack tuna, mackerel, red onion, and SPHP rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The large red chili commodity saw the highest increase of Rp237 (0.63%) to Rp38,083 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red cayenne pepper decreased the most by Rp1,239 (2.67%) to Rp45,235 per kg.
