Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Salt Up, Rice Down (Saturday, March 23, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Saturday (23/3/2024) at 09.24 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged simple cooking oil, shallots, garlic bulbs, iodized fine salt, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium rice, broiler chicken meat, farmer-level corn, mackerel, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp730 (6.63%) to Rp11,740 per kg. Skipjack tuna experienced the lowest price decrease, dropping Rp1,610 (5.91%) to Rp25,620 per kg.

6. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp33,810 per kg (down 2.23%)
7. Mackerel: Rp29,760 per kg (down 2.75%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,880 per kg (down 3.02%)
9. Milkfish: Rp25,630 per kg (down 2.84%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp25,620 per kg (down 5.91%)
