Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Onions Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (August 19, 2024) at 10:25 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, pure beef, simple packaged cooking oil, broiler chicken, and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, premium rice, fine iodized salt, bulk wheat flour, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase of Rp890 (2.41%) to Rp37,780 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chilies decreased the most, by Rp2,760 (6.68%) to Rp38,540 per kg.

9. Broiler Eggs: Rp26,370 per kg (down 1.38%)
