Based on financial statistics data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of the East Java Provincial Government, the realization of the East Java Provincial Government's budget reached Rp 26.53 trillion. This amount consists of Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of Rp 15.82 trillion, equalization funds of Rp 9.04 trillion, other legitimate regional revenues of Rp 105 billion, and regional financing of Rp 1.57 trillion.
According to BPS data, the value of East Java Provincial Government's PAD has shown an upward trend throughout the 2013-2016 period. However, in the 2017 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), the PAD of this province, whose capital city is Surabaya, is only targeted at Rp 14.9 trillion, or 5.8% lower than the previous year's realization.
East Java's economy, based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices up to the third quarter of 2017, reached Rp 1,498 trillion. Meanwhile, the GRDP at constant prices accumulated from the first to third quarters of 2017 grew by 5.21% compared to the same period of the previous year.
