President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated new ministers and several deputy ministers at the State Palace on Monday (17/7/2023).
Those inaugurated were Budi Arie Setiadi as Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo); Nezar Patria as Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics; Paiman Raharjo as Deputy Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration.
In addition, there is Pahala Mansury as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Rosan Roeslani as Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises; and Saiful R Dasuki as Deputy Minister of Religion.
Menkominfo Budi Arie replaces Johnny G Plate, who was previously implicated in an alleged corruption case involving the Kominfo BTS. Budi was previously the Deputy Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration in 2019.

According to *Katadata*, Budi is not a newcomer to Jokowi's inner circle. Besides being the Deputy Minister of Villages, Budi was the national coordinator for Pro-Jokowi volunteers to win the former Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2014 election.
Budi has reported his wealth through the State Officials' Wealth Report of the Corruption Eradication Commission (LHKPN KPK) while serving as Deputy Minister of Villages on February 28, 2023, for the 2022 periodic year.
According to the report, Budi's total assets are recorded at Rp101 billion.
The largest component of Budi's wealth is land and buildings worth Rp62.74 billion. From this component, Budi claims to own land and buildings from his own earnings in Tangerang, South Tangerang, and Central Jakarta.
Budi also owns land and buildings from a gift without a deed in North Jakarta. The rest, Budi owns 7 plots of land from his own earnings and inheritance spread across Bekasi and Padang.
The University of Indonesia (UI) alumnus owns three cars worth Rp869 million. His cars are a 2019 Honda HR-V (self-owned); a 2016 Honda HRV (gift); and a 2014 VW Scirocco (self-owned).
Budi is recorded as having securities worth Rp24.5 billion and cash and cash equivalents of Rp10.6 billion. Budi also has other movable assets amounting to Rp2.3 billion. However, Budi is not recorded as having any debts.
