Sumatra Barat Food Prices Friday (July 5th): Rice and Onion Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (5/7/2024) at 12:13 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 6 commodities increased in price and 15 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price are packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), dry soybean seeds (import), mackerel, red chilies, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as pure beef, milkfish, shallots, granulated sugar, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna experienced the highest price increase of Rp2,780 (7.48%) to Rp39,970 per kg. Milkfish experienced the largest price decrease of Rp9,480 (24.01%) to Rp30,000 per kg.
