Today's Food Prices in South Sumatra: Salt Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (26/8/2024) at 10:29 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are iodized fine salt, granulated sugar, broiler chicken, shallots, and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as wheat flour (bulk), broiler eggs, premium rice, Indian mackerel, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp70 (0.61%) to Rp11,480 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers saw the steepest price drop, decreasing Rp3,330 (6.56%) to Rp47,470 per kg.

5. Broiler Chicken: Rp32,630 per kg (up 0.06%)
6. Indian Mackerel: Rp31,960 per kg (down 0.06%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,290 per kg (down 1.34%)
8. Milkfish: Rp26,460 per kg (down 1.75%)
9. Broiler Eggs: Rp26,060 per kg (down 1.62%)
10. Shallots: Rp22,740 per kg (up 0.53%)
