The Ministry of Defense Receives the Largest Allocation in the 2022 State Budget, Reaching Rp 133.9 Trillion

In the 2022 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) draft, the government allocated Rp 133.92 trillion to the Ministry of Defence. This is the largest allocation among all ministries.

The Ministry of Defence's budget, led by Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto, increased by 13% compared to the 2021 APBN allocation of Rp 118.19 trillion.

Based on the planned budget usage, the largest allocation for the Ministry of Defence in the 2022 RAPBN is for management support, amounting to Rp 73.30 trillion. This is followed by the modernization of general weaponry systems (Alutsista), non-Alutsista, and infrastructure (Sarpras), with a budget allocation of Rp 43.26 trillion in the 2022 RAPBN.

Other ministries receiving significant budget allocations include the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) with an allocation of Rp 100.6 trillion. This amount is lower than the 2021 APBN allocation of Rp 130.5 trillion.

Next is the Ministry of Health with a budget allocation of Rp 96.1 trillion. This is also lower than the 2021 APBN allocation of Rp 176 trillion.

The next largest RAPBN allocation in 2022 went to the Ministry of Social Affairs at Rp 78.3 trillion. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs received RAPBN allocations of Rp 73 trillion and Rp 66.5 trillion, respectively.
