Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chicken Price Up, Chili Price Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (13/10/2024) at 09.01 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, chicken eggs, farmer-level corn, bulk wheat flour, and fine iodized salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, red chilies, bulk cooking oil, dry soybean (import), and garlic cloves decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn experienced the highest price increase of Rp3,210 (59.55%) to Rp8,600 per kg. Red chilies experienced the steepest price drop of Rp4,890 (15.87%) to Rp25,920 per kg.

5. Chicken Meat: Rp39,380 per kg (up 14.71%)
6. Garlic Cloves: Rp37,950 per kg (down 1.48%)
7. Chicken Eggs: Rp32,150 per kg (up 12.97%)
8. Shallots: Rp28,980 per kg (down 2.33%)
9. Red Chilies: Rp25,920 per kg (down 15.87%)
10. Granulated Sugar: Rp18,000 per kg (up 0.22%)
