The Indonesian Ministry of Finance has set the indicative budget for the Indonesian National Police (Polri) at Rp104.67 trillion for the 2025 fiscal year.
However, the Deputy Chief of Police, Comgen Pol Agus Andrianto, has requested an additional budget of Rp60.64 trillion. If approved, the total Polri budget would reach Rp165.31 trillion next year.
According to Agus, this budget increase considers the planned relocation to the new capital city (IKN), the ongoing development of cybercrime, and the establishment of the West Papua and Central Papua Regional Police.
The proposed additional 2025 Polri budget is largely allocated for capital expenditure, amounting to Rp43.97 trillion.
"This is prioritized for the fulfillment of almatsus (equipment and facilities), the construction of integrated police service centers (SPKT) at the district police level, and the improvement of police service room (RPK) services," Agus said during a working meeting with Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Tuesday (11/6/2024).
The additional capital expenditure will also be used for the construction of sub-sector border police headquarters, police precinct headquarters, vehicle registration and title (SATPAS and BPKB) offices, improvements to hospital facilities and infrastructure, and other Polri facilities and construction.
Furthermore, Polri has requested an additional Rp11.69 trillion for goods and services expenditure. This fund will be used for operational and non-operational goods and services, additional goods and services sourced from PNBP (State Revenue and Expenditure Budget), and additional goods and services expenditure from BLU (Government Agency with Business Entity Status).
There is also a proposed additional budget of Rp4.98 trillion for personnel expenditure, allocated for new employee salaries, performance allowances (tukin), and an increase in tukin for 80% of Polri personnel.
