Green Chili Prices in North Sumatra Soar 82.82% in the Last Week

The price of green chilies in North Sumatra was Rp 59,600 per kg on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Compared to other regions, this area showed the highest price increase in the last week.

According to daily commodity price data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center, the price of green chilies in North Sumatra increased by 82.82% within a week.

Compared to the price 30 days prior, the price of green chilies in this region has increased by 61.3%.

However, over the past year, the selling price of green chilies in North Sumatra's modern markets has actually decreased. The previous highest record for red chilies reached Rp 72,700 per kg.

In January 2022, the price of green chilies in modern markets experienced a 57.88% decrease compared to the previous month.

The price of green chilies reached its lowest point of Rp 59,600 per kg on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. The highest price was also around Rp 59,600 per kg.

Nationally, the price of green chilies began to rise towards the end of 2021. The average price of green chilies in modern markets was Rp 74,510 per kg, a 5.04% increase compared to the previous weekend.
