Today's Food Prices March 20 in West Sumatra: Red Chili and Onion Prices Rise

Some food commodity prices in West Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Friday (March 20, 2026) at 15:59 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 3 increased and 2 decreased in price.

The commodities that saw price increases are curly red chili, shallots, and large red chili.

Meanwhile, prices of some commodities such as red bird's eye chili and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest increase of Rp193 (0.59%) to Rp32,957 per kg. Red bird's eye chili had the sharpest decrease of Rp208 (0.36%) to Rp57,778 per kg.
