Indonesia's economy, based on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices, reached Rp 3,683.9 trillion in the second quarter of 2018. Meanwhile, at constant 2010 prices, the domestic economy reached Rp 2,603.7 trillion. Indonesia's economy in the second quarter of 2018, at constant prices, grew by 5.27% year-on-year (YoY), the highest since 2014. Compared to the previous quarter, national GDP in the second quarter of this year grew by 4.21% (QtQ). Cumulatively, the national economy in the first half of this year grew by 5.17% compared to the first half of last year.
From the production side, economic growth in the second quarter of this year compared to the second quarter of last year was supported by all business sectors, led by the "other services" sector, which reached 9.22%. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the component of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households (NPISH) expenditure, which grew by 8.71%.
Compared to the previous quarter (QtQ), the domestic economy in the second quarter of this year grew by 4.21%. From the production side, growth in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector led with the largest increase, reaching 9.93%. From the expenditure side, growth was supported by Gross Fixed Capital Formation, which experienced significant growth of 31.15%.
