Indonesia's Top 10 Sectors with the Highest Domestic Investment Value

Despite the slow pace of the domestic economy, foreign and domestic investment realization in Indonesia grew by 8.5% and 21.3%, respectively. From 2010 to 2017, investment in Indonesia showed a growth trend, both foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic direct investment (DDI). Last year, the value of investment in Indonesia reached Rp 678.8 trillion, or grew by 13.1%.

According to the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), there are 10 sectors with the highest domestic investment value. The food industry is considered the most profitable for domestic investors. Investment in this sector reached Rp 38.5 trillion, the highest DDI value last year. The sector receiving the second highest investment was transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications, with an investment value of Rp 34.5 trillion.
