According to *Forbes*, Francoise and her family own approximately 33% of L'Oréal's shares. The 69-year-old has served on L'Oréal's board of directors since 1997 and is the chairwoman of the family's holding company.

Francoise became the heir to the French L'Oréal in 2017, when her mother, Liliane Bettencourt, the previously richest woman in the world, passed away at the age of 94.
