The Indonesian government recorded a budget surplus of Rp60.9 trillion (approximately US$4 billion) by September 2022. This represents 0.33% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

She stated that the September 2022 APBN surplus caused a 30.9% year-on-year decrease in budget financing to Rp429.8 trillion. Looking ahead, Sri Mulyani revealed that the government will utilize the APBN as a shock absorber amidst rising commodity prices.

Furthermore, Sri continued, the surplus budget balance (SILPA) as of September 2022 reached Rp490.7 trillion. “With a strong SILPA, the APBN is in a very good position to fulfill its function of protecting the people and the economy,” said Sri.
