The Indonesian government launched a Golden Visa program for foreign nationals (WNA) starting August 30, 2023.
"The Golden Visa is a visa granted as a basis for granting residency permits for a period of 5 to 10 years in order to support the national economy," said Director General of Immigration Silmy Karim in a press release on Saturday (2/9/2023).
Golden Visa holders can enjoy several exclusive benefits, such as a longer stay period, easier entry and exit from Indonesia, and no longer needing to process Limited Stay Permits (ITAS) at the immigration office.
However, the Golden Visa is only granted to foreign nationals who invest a certain amount in Indonesia, with the following details:
Individual foreign investors not establishing a company in Indonesia:
* 5-Year Golden Visa: Minimum investment of US$350,000 (approximately Rp5.3 billion) to purchase Indonesian government bonds, public company shares, or deposits.
* 10-Year Golden Visa: Minimum investment of US$700,000 (approximately Rp10.6 billion) to purchase Indonesian government bonds, public company shares, or deposits.
Individual foreign investors establishing a company in Indonesia:
* 5-Year Golden Visa: Minimum investment of US$2.5 million (approximately Rp38 billion).
* 10-Year Golden Visa: Minimum investment of US$5 million (approximately Rp76 billion).
Corporate foreign investors establishing a company in Indonesia:
* 5-Year Golden Visa: Minimum investment of US$25 million (approximately Rp380 billion), residency permits are granted to directors and commissioners.
* 10-Year Golden Visa: Minimum investment of US$50 million (approximately Rp760 billion), residency permits are granted to directors and commissioners.
"Because we target high-quality entrants, the requirements are more substantial. The longer the stay in Indonesia, the higher the guarantee value, especially for capital investment activities that can reach around Rp760 billion," said Director General of Immigration Silmy Karim.
