Expenditure of East Aceh Regency Residents on Native Chicken Eggs: Rp182.5 per Capita per Week

The average expenditure per capita per week for purchasing free-range chicken eggs in Aceh Timur Regency in 2023 was Rp182.5. This figure is lower than the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp302.72 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure refers to the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, including purchases, gifts, and self-produced goods, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is categorized into food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of goods, and is limited to household needs only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to other parties.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food consumption is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and non-food items) by the total population.

The five largest expenditure items for eggs and milk in Aceh Timur Regency, in descending order, are: layer chicken eggs (Rp2,705.92 per capita per week), infant formula (Rp743.66 per capita per week), powdered milk (Rp296.77 per capita per week), sweetened condensed milk (Rp248.01 per capita per week), and the lowest expenditure is for duck eggs/Manila duck eggs (Rp69.51 per capita per week).

Based on region, the highest per capita expenditure for purchasing free-range chicken eggs was in Yalimo Regency, and the lowest was in Langsa City. Aceh Timur Regency ranked 240th in terms of expenditure on free-range chicken eggs. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure for purchasing free-range chicken eggs is Rp256 per capita per week.
