Based on a report from the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), regional government (pemda) funds deposited in banks reached Rp203.42 trillion in August 2022.

These deposits increased by Rp9.96 trillion, or 5.15% month-on-month (mom). In July 2022, regional government funds in banks amounted to Rp193.46 trillion.

Compared to the same period last year, these deposits also increased by 13.67% year-on-year (yoy). In August 2021, regional government funds deposited in banks totaled Rp178.95 trillion.

"For regional funds in banks, with revenue surging from the transfers we provided, while spending is held back, it does show a sharp increase, namely Rp203.42 trillion," Sri said in a press conference on Monday (September 26, 2022).

By region, the highest balance of regional government funds deposited in banks was in DKI Jakarta, at Rp10.94 trillion. The lowest was in Kepulauan Riau, at Rp345.26 billion.
