Current Food Prices in Yogyakarta: Chili Prices Rise, Onion Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in Yogyakarta, D.I. today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (14/5/2024) at 13.25 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 15 commodities increased and 4 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk cooking oil, dry soybean (import), iodized fine salt, broiler chicken meat, and garlic cloves.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, shallots, pure beef, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of curly red chilies saw the highest increase, jumping Rp10,840 (43.53%) to Rp35,740 per kg. The price of shallots saw the lowest decrease, dropping Rp2,140 (4.63%) to Rp44,040 per kg.
