North Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Up, Salt Prices Down (Wednesday, January 24, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (24/1/2024) at 11:30 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk cooking oil, pure beef, mackerel, skipjack tuna, and bulk wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chili, premium rice, dry soybean (import), packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and fine iodized salt decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili saw the highest price increase of Rp4,440 (12.32%) to Rp40,490 per kg. Fine iodized salt had the lowest price decrease of Rp440 (3.7%) to Rp11,450 per kg.
