Clothing and Footwear Prices in Kediri City Decreased by 0.03% in February

Footwear component prices contributing to inflation in Kediri City in February decreased by 0.03%. Although this figure shows a decrease, it remains higher than the 0.04% decrease recorded the previous month. Among the four inflation groups measured in this area, the clothing and footwear group contributed -0.06% to the regional inflation.

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that the consumer price index (CPI) for clothing and footwear in Kediri City was at 99.96 in February 2024, lower than the previous month's 99.99.

Compared to the same month last year, clothing and footwear inflation reached 0.72% (year-on-year/YoY). Compared to the beginning of the year, prices of components contributing to inflation in Kediri City experienced a -0.03% growth (year-to-date/YTD).

Based on BPS survey data from February 2024, these 11 inflation groups ranked fourth compared to other subgroups.

The following are the sub-group inflation rates for clothing and footwear measured by BPS in Kediri City for February:

• Clothing and footwear group: -0.06%


• Clothing group: -0.06%


• Footwear group: -0.03%

Compared to 63 other regencies/cities, the highest clothing and footwear inflation occurred in Bogor City, at -0.11% with a CPI of 107.97, and the lowest in Wonogiri Regency, at 0.12% with a CPI of 104.2. Kediri City ranked 43rd.

As announced by BPS earlier this month, February 2024 inflation was 0.37% month-on-month and -7.52% year-on-year. Although higher than the previous month's inflation, this monthly inflation rate was not as high as the same period last year, which recorded 5.47%.
