Sumatera Utara Food Price Update Today: Onion, Beef, and Chili Prices Rise (Wednesday, January 17, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (17/1/2024) at 13:35 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include wheat flour (bulk), milkfish, shallots, pure beef, and corn at the farmer level.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as dry soybean (import), fine iodized salt, granulated sugar, garlic cloves, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest by Rp6,700 (14.39%) to Rp53,270 per kg. The price of skipjack tuna decreased the most, by Rp430 (1.25%) to Rp34,050 per kg.
