North Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Up, Salt Prices Down (Sunday, January 14, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (14/1/2024) at 14.28 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), premium rice, red chilies, chicken eggs, and broiler chicken.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, farmer-level corn, pure beef, shallots, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Milkfish experienced the highest price increase of Rp1,030 (2.83%) to Rp37,400 per kg. Meanwhile, iodized fine salt had the lowest price decrease of Rp220 (1.82%) to Rp11,860 per kg.
