Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth was recorded at a decrease of 2.26%.
According to BPS publications, with a total population of 570,830, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp68,550,000 per capita per year. Nationally, this ranks 128th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the region's economy, the manufacturing industry is the leading sector.
The manufacturing sector in Cimahi City is the mainstay sector and contributed the largest share to the 2023 GRDP, reaching Rp18.53 trillion. This represents a 0.56% growth compared to the previous year's Rp17.96 trillion.
Next, in second place, is the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector, which grew by 7.04% to Rp6.27 trillion, followed by the construction sector which grew by 9.74% to Rp5.21 trillion.
Furthermore, other sectors contributing to the top five are transportation and warehousing with a GRDP of Rp1.78 trillion.

According to its distribution level, the main sector contributing the largest growth to Cimahi City's GRDP is the manufacturing sector, with a contribution of 43.98%. Other sectors in the top five are wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, construction, information and communication, and education services.
The sectors with the smallest distribution are Electricity and Gas Supply, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Company Services, Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling, and Mining and Quarrying.
