Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Prices of Onions, Sugar, and Chilies Decrease

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (8/9/2024) at 13.53 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are iodized fine salt, premium rice, skipjack tuna, broiler chicken, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, bulk cooking oil, Indian mackerel, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna prices surged the highest by Rp990 (2.71%) to Rp37,520 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili prices fell the most sharply by Rp3,000 (5.41%) to Rp52,440 per kg.
