Daily Prices of Large Red Chilies in Modern Markets of West Java Province Decreased by 4.99% in the Last Month

Based on the National Strategic Food Price Information Center dashboard at 17:23 WIB, the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets in West Java Province showed no change compared to the previous day, mirroring the trend of the past week.

Over the past month, however, the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets has decreased from a previous record of Rp82,100 per kg.

The daily price of large red chilies in modern markets in West Java over the past three months has fallen by 21.73%. According to historical food price records in the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets in West Java Province was traded at Rp99,650 per kg.

The highest recorded price increase for daily large red chilies in modern markets in this province was in June 2022, with an increase of 98.81%, while the lowest decrease was recorded in January 2017, at -45.19%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) in West Java today show 12 commodities decreased and ten others increased. The sembako with decreased prices are Red Chili, Curly Red Chili, Chili, Red Chili, Large Red Chili, Green Chili, Garlic, Grade 1 Beef, Medium-Sized Garlic, Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2, Red Onion, and Medium-Sized Red Onion.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price trends over the past month in West Java Province:

6. Chili per Kg Rp74,350 per kg (down 10.9%)
7. Grade I Low-Quality Rice per Kg Rp13,250 per kg (unchanged)
8. Red Chili per Kg Rp83,400 per kg (down 5.12%)
9. Large Red Chili per Kg Rp78,000 per kg (down 4.99%)
10. Grade I Medium-Quality Rice per Kg Rp14,400 per kg (up 0.7%)
