Red Chili Pepper Prices Highest in These 10 Provinces (Thursday, December 14, 2023)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of large red chilies (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces reaching Rp 103,050 per kg as of Thursday, December 14, 2023. Overall, the average this week increased compared to the previous week's average of Rp 88,270 per kg.

The daily price of large red chilies in North Maluku's modern markets was the highest in Indonesia, with a selling price of Rp 159,900 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of large red chilies in this province is higher; previously recorded at Rp 59,900 per kg.

Meanwhile, in North Kalimantan's modern markets, large red chilies were sold at Rp 157,000 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Then, in third place, the price of large red chilies in South Sumatra was Rp 139,750 per kg, North Sulawesi Rp 122,850 per kg, and Banten Rp 119,850 per kg.

Meanwhile, there were 18 provinces with large red chili sales below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for large red chilies were West Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi.
