Election Monitoring Organization Finds Alleged Violations in the 2024 Election

During February 2024, the Jaga Pemilu civic organization received approximately 398 reports of alleged violations of regulations in the 2024 General Election.

These reports were compiled from Jaga Pemilu volunteers spread nationwide, covering around 1,000 polling stations (TPS), and from public monitoring at the sub-district level.

According to Jaga Pemilu volunteer Rusdi Marpaung, the most numerous reports were allegations of electoral administrative violations, accounting for 47%.

Next were reports of alleged electoral criminal offenses, representing 15%. "This includes manipulation of vote casting before election day," said Rusli in an online press conference on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Then there were reports of alleged violations of the election organizer's code of ethics (7%), and other alleged legal violations such as e-KTP falsification (31%).

Based on the perpetrators, the most numerous reports of alleged election violations were related to the General Election Commission's (KPU) Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap), at 41%.

Reports involving alleged perpetrators from the Polling Station Working Committee (KPPS) accounted for 33%, legislative candidates 10%, KPU 3%, and candidate teams 3%.

"Post-election issues are also linked to the campaign period, registration, and administrative issues concerning the Constitutional Court (MK) and the KPU's lack of neutrality," said Rusli.
